Aus aktuellem Anlass bespielt das Medienkünstlerduo Liebidow den „Tresor – Raum für flüchtige Kunst“ mit Videoarbeiten, die den ephemeren Aspekt des Geldes thematisieren. Die ursprüngliche Funktion des Tresors wird mit animierten Videoprojektionen kombiniert und konfrontiert und so in unterschiedliche, zeitbezogene Kontexte gesetzt.
Seit sie gemeinsam auf großer Trickfilmtournee waren, haben die Damen Liebel und Bredow von Liebidow ein klares Arbeitskonzept: Bevor ein Animationsfilm oder Video entsteht, werden die Orte, an denen der Film spielt, genau untersucht. Das die Präsentation umgebende Umfeld wird zum Thema der Arbeit und direkt in den Arbeitsprozess eingebunden. Mit dem Ort verbundene Bedeutungen, Funktionen oder formal-ästhetische Merkmale bilden die Grundlage für spielerische Überlegungen in kurzen, meist per Stop-Motion animierten Videos. Dabei werden gerne auch Barbies und Masters of the Universe-Figuren aus Plastik als Personifikationen verschiedener Charaktere eingebunden, aber auch Utensilien aus dem Kitschkästchen. Ingesamt changiert der Liebidow-Style zwischen Krikelkrakel und Design deluxe, aber immer kindlich verspielt und höchst individuell mit einem gehörigen Hauch analoger Anarchie. 
Im „Tresor – Raum für flüchtige Kunst“ rücken die Absolventinnen der Stuttgarter Kunstakademie den Tresor als zentrales Merkmal des Ausstellungsraumes in den Mittelpunkt ihrer Videoinstallation. Sein ehemaliger Inhalt, das Geld, und sein kontextuelles Umfeld, werden in unterschiedlichen Videoinstallationen, die alle den Tresor als projiziertes Ausgangsbild haben, thematisiert. So geht es bei dieser Ausstellung vor allem um die Flüchtigkeit des Geldes: Verschwendung, Luxus, Finanzkrise. In Liebidow'scher Manier werden bewegte Bilder gefunden, die als Metapher zum Thema gelesen werden können und im Zusammenspiel mit dem Tresor-Raum reizvolle Konstellationen ergeben. So können die Projektionen als Möglichkeitsformen und Erweiterungen des real im Raum installierten Tresors gesehen werden – und als Anregungen, mit der vielbeschworenen Finanzkrise kreativ umzugehen.

It is acutely topical that the media arts duo Liebedow are performing at "Tresor ‒ Space for Ephemeral Art" with video works about the ephemeral aspect of money. The original function of the safe at "Tresor" is combined and confronted with animated video projections and thus placed in contemporary contexts.
Since Ms Liebel and Ms Bredow, the artist duo Liebidow, who are both graduates of the Stuttgart Art Academy, went on their grand animated film tour, they have worked out a stringent work concept: before an animated film or video is made, the venue where the film is to play is thoroughly inspected. The environment of the presentation becomes the subject of the work and is thus directly tied into the work process. Meanings, functions and formal aesthetic features linked with the venue form the basis for thoughts on it that are playfully handled in brief videos, most of them in stop-motion animation. Barbie Dolls and Master of the Universe figures in plastic are often used as personifications of the various characters and tools from the kitsch workbox are also part of the mix. On the whole, the Liebidow style fluctuates between winkle crinkle and deluxe design but is invariably childishly playful and highly quirky with a good helping of analogue anarchy.
At "Tresor – Space for Ephemeral Art", Liebidow focus in their video installation on the safe as the pivotal feature of the exhibition space. What it once contained ‒ money ‒ and its contextual environment are investigated in several video installations, all of which have the safe as the first image they project. This exhibition is, therefore, chiefly about the ephemerality of money: wastefulness, luxury, finance crisis. Moving pictures are discovered in the inimitable Liebidow manner that can be read as metaphors for the subject and result in attractive constellations interwoven with the "Tresor" space. Such projections can be viewed as potential forms and extensions of the safe that is really installed in the room – and as sources of inspiration for dealing creatively with the much invoked financial crisis.
